Below is a schematic diagram that shows the ethernet and visualization network configuration for Gremlin.

Each rack contains 10 nodes (2 super nodes and 8 rendering nodes). Each node is connected via 100Mb/s ethernet (blue lines) to an ethernet switch for external communications. There is a switchless gigabit ethernet network (pink lines) for internal communications (using crossover cables). The supernodes have a twisted-pair genlock sync cable (green lines) daisy-chaining their graphics cards to synchronize the screen refresh. Each super node also has a DVI connection (black line) to the graphics display.
