Volume Visualization - a sleeping giant about to awaken Speaker: Jim Foley, Chairman and CEO, Mitsubishi Electric Research The coming era of inexpensive volume rendering will enable many volumetric applications that heretofore have been impractical. We describe one such application surgical simulation - and an inexpensive real-time volume rendering hardware capable of processing 500 megavoxels per second.
