Installation Pictures (Phase IV) Page 3

While the others assembled systems outside the server room, Roger worked inside the server room installing the power distribution units and system rails in the racks.

The amount of cardboard left over was incredible. Leroy is six feet eight inches tall, and he can barely reach the top of the stack of collapsed boxes. All of the cardboard was recycled.

Of course, unpacking generates much more than cardboard. All of these materials stacked outside of our building also had to be disposed of. The four boxes stacked on the left were built using cardboard pallet liners taped together and filled with foam packing materials.

The three photos above show all 11 of the IBM racks. These photos were taken while standing at the center of the front wall of the server room. The two sets of racks on the left and middle are the newer systems.

This photo shows the 4 older racks of IBM x330s, the end of the row of SGI 1100s, and in the foreground, the bottom of some of the newer x330 racks. The middle 3 racks of IBM systems is set back and is obscured by the racks in the foreground
