Williams, T. N., & Carino, R.L. (2007). ImageAnalyzer - A Software Tool for Calculating Certain Material Model Constants from Optical Images. MSU.CAVS.CMD.2007-R0039. Mississipi State University: CAVS.

ImageAnalyzer is a utility for calculating some of the material model constants from an optical image of a material. Groups of pixels in the image that satisfy user-specified criteria are interpreted to be objects (particles, grains, voids, etc.). Associated with each object are the following quantities: area, centroid, first nearest neighbor distance, major axis length, minor axis length, and orientation. From these, material constants such as: particle size, particle volume (or area) fraction, coalescence factor, grain size or dendrite cell size, and initial void volume (or area) fraction, are calculated.
