Biography
Dr. Joby Czarnecki is an Associate Research Professor at the Geosystems Research Institute who specializes in precision agriculture and conservation. Using her almost 25 years of experience with geographic information systems, Joby conducts research that assists growers with meaningful and profitable implementation of geospatial technologies on-farm. Drawing from her upbringing in Oklahoma wheat country, Joby pursued B.S. and M.S. degrees in Plant and Soil Science at Oklahoma State University, before completing a Ph.D. in the same at Mississippi State University. Her long-term research agenda is development of tools for precision placement of best management practices for soil and water conservation. Outside of work, Joby enjoys taking photos of birds, reading mystery novels, and lazy Saturdays on the patio with her husband.
Research Interest
Dr. Joby Czarnecki is focused on how geospatial technologies can enable growers to target placement of conservation practices on the landscape to reduce the environmental impact of production agriculture without compromising the bottom line.
