Research Interest
Dr. Collins is currently building computational simulation tools to facilitate accurate and efficient analysis of engineering problems involving fluid-dynamics and fluid-structure interactions. He is also interested in pursuing practical applications of machine learning techniques to some of the most time-consuming, labor-intensive tasks in computational field simulations (e.g. mesh generation, solver validation).
Hobbies
space exploration, astronomy, robotics, rockets, artificial intelligence, machine learning, interactive 3D visualizations (VR, Oculus), personal fabrication technologies (CNC milling, 3D printing, etc.)
